Chicago based photographer focuses on year long project highlighting 52 Phenomenal Women
Chicago, IL – Inspired by the poem, Phenomenal Woman, by Maya Angelou Chicago based photographer, Amy Boyle began a year long project in September 2018 seeking out and celebrating the qualities that makes each and every woman phenomenal. The weekly photo essay which is now in its nineteenth week is also raising funds for the Chicago chapter of Dress for Success Worldwide-Central.
What began as a birthday wish to encourage others through the stories that will be featured the amyboylephoto blog and social channels. Starting a dialogue of inclusion, support, and recognition by celebrating the phenomenal qualities within all women. There is no better time than the present moment. The best way to describe the project is #womancrushwednesday meets Humans of New York. Why only women? Amy Boyle says, “I am continually supported and loved by my husband and four sons, but what I know in my heart is many women are not so fortunate. I want to support women, who whether they realize it or not, are phenomenal.”
Each featured woman in this project is asked to donate to Dress for Success Worldwide-Central. None of us would be where we are today without the help and encouragement of others. We certainly are stronger together!
Beyond sharing weekly inspiring stories, the goal of the project is to end the year with a gallery show in which the participants will be able to meet in person.
