This week, I was invited to the kickoff of Nielsen-Massey’s #betteryourbake campaign and it was such a sweet treat!

I’ve been focusing more on finding daily happiness for the last few years and I intentionally add mindful activities to my everyday. In a break from the day earlier this week, I found myself rewatching Julie & Julia one of my favorite movies. I’ve loved Julia Child for decades (watching her show on PBS with my mother when I was a child myself) and I now I totally identify with the character of Julie Powell. For me learning something knew this is the way to work through other daily challenges. Much like the way Julie takes it upon herself to cook her way through Julia Child’s cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
Julie says, “You know what I love about cooking? I love that after a day when nothing is sure and when I say nothing, I mean nothing. You can come home and absolutely know that if you add egg yolks to chocolate and sugar and milk, it will get thick. That’s such a comfort.”
This quote gets at the heart of what cooking and baking mean to me as well. The #betteryourbake campaign takes it a step further. Providing weekly tips to improve your baking proficiency while providing a more relaxed day-to day and the ability to channel mindfulness through baking. I don’t know about you, but yes to less stress and to baking sweet treats that conjure up nostalgia and comfort at home!
