I feel that I wait all year for summer and it passes so quickly. One thing I promised myself this year was to focus on NOW – So last week, I scheduled two fun activities. If you are in Chicago, you certainly should check them out. HAPPY PLACE through 8/6 and Wild Women Of Planet Wongo through 7/28.

As a photographer, going to Happy Place with my son and fellow photog, Colin, was such a blast. A true playground of visual delights. I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard in a very long time. (See the ball pit photos for proof of that!)

It’s January and in Chicago this week that means single digit temperatures. BRRR. A perennial favorite activity of mine is planning vacations and right now is a wonderful time to plan another Holland America and Oprah Magazine cruise.

I took my first cruise in July on the inaugural #OMAGonHAL journey to Alaska. It was incredible to share the adventure with my fellow passengers. Being a photographer, I was like a kid in a candy store with the Alaskan grandeur at every vista. The ship was the perfect size. The accommodations, dining and entertainment were incredible. The icing on the cake of this particular cruise for me was of course seeing Oprah, Gayle King, Adam Glassman, as well as experiencing all of the OMag programming!
